Baltimore, MD native Karen Y. Buster was reared in a private artist colony – her childhood home. How else would you describe an atmosphere with a designer mother, sisters – one dancer, the other a wordsmith – and a artist older brother. Karen is blessed to have grown up in a household the encouraged creativity and recognize the soul of her art. Original Karen Y. Buster creations are in the private celebrity collections of Queen Latifah, Denzel Washington, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Toni Braxton, Jada Pickett Smith, and a host of others. Her work also adorns the wall of the Beverly Hills and Philadelphia Chambers of Commerce, respectively, home. Karen is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. since 1978. “Juxtaposition”, a story of Karen Y. Buster’s 44 year journey in the arts has just been released. Karen’s favor of work stems from her 10 year residency in New Orleans, LA, in which she studied and graduated from Dillard University. Bowie, MD is where Karen now resides, creates and calls home.
