BIO
Ruchi Gupta of Birds at Noon explores the fluidity that comes with being in the moment, in a state of flow, driven by spontaneity and intuition. Her studio practice is her exploration into herself, life, her meditation, and refection toward self growth. She is drawn to the organic shapes, natural forms, beauty and honesty nature provides. Many of her forms are gift from nature – gourds, coconuts, melons have been used to make ceramic molds. Her drawings, brushwork, or carving all start with a dot and grow on their own. Her vessels carry poems and light, merging joy and reflection with form and function. Mythology, symbols, text, antiques, cultures and history intrigue her. She is drawn to the richness of color, texture and architecture. This journey through clay is opening and ripening her, which is what she submits to.
