BIO
Zen Fiber Arts is a woman-owned indie dye studio featuring small batch, hand dyed yarns and fibers, handspun yarn, and hand knit and crochet items. Zen Fiber Arts began as a creative outlet and platform to introduce fiber arts as a relaxation technique to others. Founder, Heather Kennedy, began spinning fiber, primarily wool, in summer 2020 for stress relief while working in healthcare through the pandemic. Through her background as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist and meditation instructor, Heather has been able to embrace both the artistic and health benefits aspect of fiber arts. Branching out, she began dyeing and creating her own yarn colorways. Many of her yarns are small batch colorways, creating a special and unique project. For those who have not learned to knit or crochet yet, Zen Fiber Arts also creates hand knit and hand crochet items; including shawls, scarves, and baskets. Heather teaches knitting, crochet, and spinning classes and will have her spinning wheel and drop spindle for demonstrations.

Lakefest includes live performances, children's creative activities, a juried fine arts and crafts show, a variety of hands-on workshops for all ages and outdoor festival food fare.
